Summer in Daytona Beach

July 22, 2016

At the Hawaiian Inn we get guests coming to stay a couple of weeks with us, a whole month or even just a weekend. But there are a few things we think you can’t leave Daytona Beach without experiencing. So regardless of how long you plan on staying, here are the things you MUST do while vacationing in Daytona:

Watch the sunrise: You must stay in an ocean front room and set up your alarm to wake up early at least once during your vacation. Check the weather app on your smartphone to see what time sunrise is set to be and plan to wake up a few minutes earlier. We swear you won’t regret it. There’s something truly magical about watching the sun rise above the ocean that is just so soothing and peaceful.

Take a nap: Beach vacations supposed to be relaxing. Let the sound of the waves lure you into a deep sleep. But make sure you have an umbrella to protect you from the sun. You need shade and sunscreen to be able to enjoy a nap without enduring a sunburn later.

Boardwalk: Take a trip to Daytona Beach’s boardwalk. Have some ice cream, ride a few carnival rides, shop a bit, watch a movie, have a delicious pizza and enjoy the free Friends of the Bandshell concerts from May to September.
